Coach Crash Compensation Claims

Coach Crash Compensation Claims

Been injured as result of a coach crash? Then the injured passengers will be entitled to make a Coach Crash Compensation Claim.

Who are you claiming against?

If the accident was caused by the person driving the coach then it may be possible to make a compensation claim against the driver’s insurance. If the accident was not caused by the driver of the coach, it may be the case that another motorist is responsible for the accident. In this situation it is possible to make a compensation claim against the third party.

Information required

You will need to supply us with information of the route your coach was travelling on. We will require a copy of your coach ticket or a credit card statement if this was used to purchase your ticket.

It is not essential that you have a copy of your coach ticket but it will certainly assist your compensation claim by placing you at the scene of the accident. If you do not have a ticket all is not lost, we can make a request to the coach company to check their CCTV.

It is also common for the driver to take an inventory of all passengers following an accident.

Medical attention

Injuries received in a coach accident are similar to those you may receive in a car accident – which can often come in the form of a sore neck, bumps, bruising, cuts or scrapes. However, more severe injuries can occur due to the lack of seat belts – although the majority of coaches are required to have fitted seat belts, according to the 2001 law change for long journeys.

Whatever the extent of your injuries, we always advise you seek medical attention straight away following the accident.

The most common cause of a coach crash is a road collision between the coach driver and another vehicle’s driver. A coach crash could occur due to numerous different reasons which include weather conditions, a mistake made by any of the drivers involved, or a mechanical fault amongst one of the vehicles involved.

Claiming for compensation for coach accidents does not necessarily have to be regarding a coach collision. Many accidents can occur on coaches such as slips trips and falls, which could be due to a spillage or wet surface on board the coach. You may be able to claim for compensation if you have experienced something similar to this, and you can prove that the accident was not your fault.
