Concussion is defined as a type of Head Injury, which causes a temporary loss of brain function, which means that concussion can cause a variety of physical, mental and emotional symptoms. In most cases symptoms will usually go away entirely within three weeks, although in rare cases they can persist, or complications arise, especially because repeated concussions can cause cumulative Brain Injuries, like those sustained by professional boxers.
The most common type of consussion is Grade 1 or Mild concussion which can cause confusion, brief memory loss, a headache and no loss of consciousness. This grade of concussion commonly occurs in victims of minor Road Traffic Accidents and Accidents at Work or at home.
